GMARS
The Goat Mountain Astronomical Research Station, or GMARS, serves as the dark sky site for the Riverside Astronomical Society. This site has been developed into a full-fledged observing location far from the city lights. Joshua trees, varieties of desert sagebrush, and other desert plants punctuate the landscape. Since 2005, the observatories at GMARS have contributed important observations and results to asteroid science gaining international notice and hosting astronomers from far off places.
